Articulation Agreements

Where to Find Agreements

Use the menu on the left to explore the many articulations Harford Community College has to offer. Agreements have been organized by type, each of which is defined below under the section "Types of Articulation Agreements."

What is an Articulation Agreement?

An articulation agreement is a formal document produced between two academic institutions that facilitates the seamless transfer of academic credits from one institution to the other.

Harford Community College holds articulation agreements with various in-state, out-of-state, and online colleges and universities. Students complete the designated degree at HCC and then transfer seamlessly to the colleges and universities with which the agreement has been made. Meeting graduation and transfer requirements is the responsibility of the student. Students interested in transferring should contact a  HCC advisor .

Types of Articulation Agreements

2+2 Articulation Agreements: 2+2 articulation agreements outline a specific course-to-course pathway for students to follow and are only applicable to the programs being articulated. Explore our 2+2 articulation offerings to support your seamless transfer.

Transfer Partnerships: Transfer partnerships are general agreements made between HCC and the receiving institution. These partnerships provide HCC degree completers the opportunity to transfer into a similar degree program at the receiving institution. These are sometimes called "parallel programs." Transfer partnerships often have some additional criteria for applying to use the agreement. Explore transfer partnerships to support your seamless transfer.

Nursing Articulations (RN to BSN): These agreements support the transfer of credits into a BSN program. Please contact an advisor for more information.

Honors Program Articulation: These articulations support the transfer of HCC Honors Program students into the honors program at the transfer institution. Explore the options in Honors Program articulations.

HCPS Articulated Credit: The College Credit for Prior Learning at the High School agreement agreement is designed to meet the needs of students pursuing educational programs in Harford County Public Schools who are continuing their education at Harford Community College.

Other Agreements: Harford also has a number of agreements that allow students to transfer in prior learning experience gained through completion of apprenticship and academy programs, as well as industry certification and high school coursework.
